Comments:  This is truly one of the greatest Rhodes albums of all time in my heart & mind...being a diehard Zappa fan I couldn't help but pick this up around the time it was released, insanely curious about what George was doing at the end of his career with the Mothers. The three albums included in this compilation are: "I Love the Blues, She Heard My Cry" (1975), "The Aura Will Prevail" (1976) and "Liberated Fantasies" (1976). All of these are a wild mix of musical styles, not to mention classic 70's keyboards (the lead synth solos are killer) and have definite Zappa-esque elements ("Giant Child Within Us - Ego" is obviously inspired by Frank, "Tryin' and Cryin'" has Napoleon Murphy Brock on vocals, and we know where "Echidna's Arf" and "Uncle Remus" came from...). Recommended Rhodes tracks include "Back To Where We Never Left" (get your funk on!), "I C'n Hear That" (how he got that sharp bite out of the Rhodes, I don't know) and "Liberated Fantasies" (a grand finale, for sure). Let's hope this set goes back into print someday soon!!!
