Comments:  This album features Alice Coltrane mainly on a Wurlitzer? organ and harp, but also contains an inspiring 9 1/2 minute Rhodes track, 'Om Supreme'. For me, this track is the true gem of the album and has one the cleanest, fullest, warmest, and most beautifully recorded fender Rhodes I've ever heard (it's worth buying the CD just for this track, seriously!). Alice Coltrane performs in her usual unique and spiritually influenced style. On 'Om Supreme' she really performs as an accompanist to a group of singers. Still, the final section shows how haunting a clean Rhodes sound can be - makes my spine tingle ever time I listen to it. Her version Stravinsky's 'Rite of Spring' is really terrible though- Listen to Hubert Laws version of the 'Rite', much better and more imaginative and features Bob James on piano (he does a Rhodes solo over themes from the 'Rite') - I love it when the group changes from classical into the 'groove-thang!'
Anyway, Alice? you are 'Om Supreme, vagabond!'
