Comments:  Early Level 42, still deeply rooted in Jazz/Funk and far away from the boring cliché chart oriented pop they got famous for as the 80's raved on. This is mainly a real band achievement and Mark King's bassplaying is much more versatile here than later when he had to fullfil all the expectations of diehard devotees who admired him as the Fastest Thumb On Earth. Lots of great sounding Rhodes courtey of Mike Lindup all over the place.

Comments:  This is easily my favorite era of Level 42, from the Early Tapes to Pursuit of Accidents. Afterwards they would focus more on their pop instincts with some success. Musically, they would never take these kinds of risks again. Mike Lindup and fifth member Wally Badarou really compliment this group with a lot of tasteful playing, especially on Rhodes piano and Prophet 5 synth.
