Danish jazz/fusion from the 80's ECM tradition. Guitarist Bjarne Roupé teams up with keyboardist Jørgen Emborg, who plays Rhodes on most tracks. The nice blend of spacious, chorused Methenyesque guitar and chorused Rhodes makes the soundstage huge on this small label recording. The original LP has been reissued on CD by Sundance (Denmark-see website address above.) The tunes range in style from Chick Corea to (ECM artist) Jan Garbarek (fellow ECM alumnus Palle Mikkelborg guests on trumpet on one tune). It can also be downloaded from emusic.com, which offers a free trial subscripition for new customers . (Don't pay attention to the lame reviews of "20:33" on amazon.com. It is definitely worth checking out.) |
