This is not an album with electronic/dance music, it's funk, soul, jazzfunk, acid jazz and that sort of music. It is (to me) the best Jamiroquai album, as they hadn't gone all disco back then. There's a lot of good Rhodes on this album, as well as old synths. Check out the title track and Stillness In Time. |

Yeah, this is the one of my favourite cd's. It's so many funk tunes there. I love 'just another story', the sound of Rhodes is incredible!!!

Yes, wonderful one! Very cool thing is vintage sound of this CD, like a J.K. with his stuff was record session in Steve Wonder studio back in 1970'! :)(Very similar by sounding is "The greyboy Allstars" album of 1994 (sorry, i don't remember title...)) Some technical, "dry" people can say, that this sound's crappy between other records, maked in 1994, but there is an essence - this "crappy" vintage sound! Not that novadays "standart" - all becomes compressed and limited 10x ...
Yes, Rhodes on this sounds great! I very like last track on this CD - Space Cowboy, where is slow intro whith Hi EQ smoothed, fast tremolo'ed Rhodes! :) There in Chorus and Bridge is used one filtred, i think, old, vintage analong synth, that i like too!!! (Maybe it's MiniMoog? Who knows...) |

Toby Smith, keyboardist from Jamiroquai
is the best rhodes piano performer in the world.
Besides he has the best rhodes piano sound.
Space Cowboy is a beautiful example of his fantastic, magical rhodes sound
and amazing musical ideas.

I can't say how often I've listened to Space Cowboy - I just can't stop, need to get more...especially the title track goes first in circles in my record player and then in circles in my mind...
I love Jamiroquai. Their music sounds in some way exactly as I feel. |
