Comments:  Wasn't able to properly sit through "Rain Dance" and "Hornets"- very experimental- but Hidden Shadows is absolute genius!
A loping 6/8, 5/8, 8/8 sequence is jammed over, whilst layers of Clav, Rhodes, ARP and other synths swoosh and sweep about and Bennie Maupin's horn section get harmonic in the wings. Tasty!!

Comments:  Very different, a little difficult the first time - but great.

Compared to later Herbie-CDs , this early one can be seen as pretty freaky and experimental , and in the use of bassclarinet and echoed trumpets , reminiscent of sounds that Miles Davis explored on Bitches Brew. Unlike Bitches Brew it has experimental synthsounds on it .
