Christmas season is here again, and it was a welcome surprise to hear the magic of Ray Charles singing and Rhodes-ing as I was strolling around the Old Navy in downtown San Francisco today. Ray's Christmas album is undoubtedly THE Rhodes Christmas album, and Santa Claus Is Comin To Town is THE track you need to hear. It is swingin' from beginning to end, and there's a Rhodes solo from 1:15 to 2:15 that runs through all the changes, not the 8-bar token tinkling break that we have all come to expect. What more do you want? How about more Rhodes solo action on Winter Wonderland!!!
