Major Key - Restored Fender Rhodes Pianos For Sale
a special bulletin from John R. McLaren

The Latest From Major Key (01/28/10): The company is not currently manufacturing or distributing parts, and we are debating whether the cost of getting things operational again would really be a rational business decision. Currently there is a backstock of Harmonic Clarifier circuit boards that were in the middle of the assembly process, however, so preamp production is still a possibility. We will keep you posted.

In the meantime, there is an entire warehouse of pianos that were used for testing parts in the past that is currently costing us unnecessary rent each month. For this reason we are selling the majority of the pianos, which are representative of all eras of the piano's development, as well as the student models and several rarities. All of them have been restored and are in excellent to near-mint condition. Photos and descriptions will be posted here as they become available for sale to the public. We hope to move these sooner than later.

Pickup in Fullerton, CA is necessary due to the fragile nature of many of these pianos and the risks of damage to the action during shipping. We are not in a position to ship globally at this time. If this becomes an option it will be announced here.

Super Site Webmaster James Garfield is the point of contact for all sales. You can email him at james@fenderrhodes.com for further details on any of the pianos, price negotiations or to be put in touch with John directly as necessary.

Rhodes "Bantam" Pre-Piano Restored with School Bench plus *BONUS* Second Pre-Piano

This is the fully-restored Pre-Piano shown under the Pre-CBS Models section of the site, which features an elementary school bench and sustain pedal that added by John in place of the tripod legs. It is in beautiful condition and is one of the few items that has not been living in the warehouse over the last few years. Photos and the MP3 demo performed by John's father (John C. McLaren, 1980's President of CBS Musical Instruments) can be found on the Pre-CBS page and also here.

The bonus piano is another restored Pre-Piano that is only missing the tripod legs. It could be used as a parts piano for maintaining the other, although the intent was to make it completely playable again. Contact us if you are interested in purchasing this item alone and we can discuss splitting the set.
